Esco Bangladesh Joins the Food and Chemical
Lab Expo 2022

The Bangladesh Food Safety Authority and Bangladesh Trade Facilitation Project organized the first-ever Food and Chemical Lab Expo which aims to strengthen the food and chemical laboratory network in Bangladesh while ensuring safe food for all. The event took place last September 11, 2022, at the Carnival & Harmony Hall, Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC). They featured several scientific sessions with experts from food safety and regulation, biosecurity and biosafety, and laboratory accreditation and management.

Esco Bangladesh Booth Highlights

The main objective of the program is to discuss and elaborate solutions for handling foodborne hazards by means of scientific process and well-coordinated approach. Excerpt from the Honorable Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, Ministry of Food, “Whether food is safe for human consumption i.e., free from all kinds of hazard needs to be proved by laboratory testing. Food testing is an ever-changing matter as the very advancement of science and technology. So, food testing laboratories should be accredited, updated and well-advanced, and moreover well-equipped. There should be a harmonic and interactive relationship among the laboratories. This expo will let the concerned agencies and laboratories create ample scope for active network.”
